i have a set of 44s off off a comanche. i was told that they had 4:10 gears. I was just looking a jeeptech.com and from what i can tell they didnt have that ratio, can anyone confirm this. I would check but there buried in snow.

well, for one....a J truck is not a Comanche. Second...You'll need to give more detail about the vehicle if you hope to figure out what factory ratio they have, but I am pretty sure they did not come with 4.10's from the factory in a J truck.

Unless it had the rare 44 rear, and the even rarer still front 44, it wasn't the cherokee inspired, MJ commanche.

More than likley it is an old J10.

could have had 4.10, 3.73, or 2.73.

most likley 3.73 or 2.73. Go check, then snow is melting. Very Happy

If they are six lug they are from a J-truck. Commanches are the Jeep pickup based off of the Cherokee, which never came with a 44 front.

I'm not sure on gear ratios but if you have the axles you can always figure it out by spinning the tires and counting the revolutions of the pinion. Also you can find the BOM number and reference it.

If it is from a J-truck and has disk brakes I'd be interested in the axle. The wms - wms distance should be able to tell you what it is from. I know the J-trucks are about 64".
